Advertising policy

Effective 22 September 2026. Harmony may consider carefully labelled advertising that supports an independent educational publication. Advertising is not editorial coverage, financial advice or a recommendation. The publisher operates from 10 Nambusunhwan-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea 06703.

1. Separation

Paid placements are visually and verbally separated from articles. Advertisers cannot edit reported conclusions or require a favourable review. Advertising staff do not assign newsroom stories. A commercial relationship does not change our correction process.

2. Eligible subjects

Potential advertisers must provide enough information to assess lawful operation, identity and audience relevance. We may decline products that rely on misleading urgency, unsupported performance claims or concealed conditions. We do not accept promotions for unlawful activity. Review is not certification.

3. Prohibited claims

Creative must not promise guaranteed results, certainty, safety, lowest cost or time pressure. It must not imply that Harmony recommends a financial product or that editorial coverage is paid endorsement. Health, political and deceptive claims are excluded. The advertiser remains responsible for substantiation.

4. Labels

Paid material is labelled in plain language such as Advertisement or Sponsored content. Labels remain visible on mobile layouts and do not rely only on colour. Native formats must not imitate an independent article. Readers should be able to identify commercial content before engaging.

5. Data and cookies

Advertising technology is limited to the configuration described in the cookie policy. Harmony does not sell contact lists. Optional cookies require an appropriate choice mechanism. Advertisers do not receive private contact messages unless a visitor knowingly submits information to them.

6. Review

Campaigns are reviewed before publication and may be paused when a complaint or material change arises. Approval does not guarantee continued placement. Harmony can request revised substantiation or remove a creative that no longer reflects its evidence. Fees do not override safety or law.

7. Editorial firewall

Advertisers do not receive advance access to unpublished reporting unless a lawful production process requires a narrow factual check. A factual check cannot become approval of analysis. The newsroom keeps its own source trail. Conflicts are disclosed where relevant.

8. Complaints

Readers can report a misleading placement through contact.php or +82-2-758-3942. Include the page, date and a description of the concern. We review the creative and available substantiation. A complaint may result in correction, pause or removal.

9. Jurisdiction

Commercial material must comply with applicable Korean advertising and consumer protection requirements as well as any applicable platform rules. International advertisers remain responsible for local compliance. Harmony does not provide legal clearance. Written questions may be sent to the Seoul address.

10. Revision log

This policy was reviewed on 22 September 2026 for the 2026 edition. Material changes receive a new date and may alter available formats. Historical versions may be retained for accountability. The policy does not turn advertising into editorial advice.

Harmony may display clearly identified information about its own guides, editorial work, or contact channels, but the site is not designed to pressure a visitor into a transaction. Descriptions are factual and should not imply a particular financial outcome, personal suitability, or approval by a public authority. Any external reference is evaluated for relevance to the educational purpose of the page.

Advertising or sponsorship discussions must be separated from editorial judgment. A commercial relationship, if one exists, does not control whether an article is published, corrected, updated, or withdrawn. Sponsored material must be labelled in a way that a reasonable reader can notice, and it must not be presented as independent research when it is not.

Harmony does not knowingly accept material that promotes unlawful activity, restricted goods, deceptive claims, fabricated reviews, misleading urgency, or requests for confidential credentials. Visitors can report a concern about a placement or disclosure at 10 Nambusunhwan-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea 06703 or +82-2-758-3942. We aim to acknowledge a report within five business days and review the relevant page within 15 business days.

Advertising-related records may be retained for up to 24 months after a campaign, inquiry, or complaint closes, subject to applicable accounting or legal retention requirements. The policy is effective 22 September 2026. Future revisions will show the new date and explain material changes to labelling, review, prohibited content, or complaint handling.
